The notion that human stupidity is on the rise is about as accurate as believing mullets were a good fashion choice in any era. What's truly changing is not the volume of ignorance, but its visibility—technological platforms have transformed the once-quiet "stupidity sector" into a global comedy stage, where every half-baked thought gets its moment in the spotlight.

In essence, the internet and social media don't manufacture foolishness; they're essentially the world's most elaborate amplification system for human nonsense. The percentage of genuinely uninformed or irrational thought remains remarkably consistent throughout history—we've just upgraded from local town idiots to a worldwide network of potential viral sensations, creating the illusion that stupidity is a growth industry.
