yestarday youtube permanently disabled my account.
reason stated in email: violation of copyright (featuring snippets of some other film in my film). it was swift and without a warning! ... i can't loggin to check the video in question.
apparently those who flagged the video (MELA FILMS LLC) think that sharing some of their material (in a non-commercial use!) is not a good idea...
here's a great talk from Larry Lessig on how the law strangles creativity:

Idea: News on the news
We all know that different news media push different political agendas. Why not to create a news channel that would make it even more obvious? Let's say a daily (or weekly) "news on the news" tv channel (or a web portal!) that would tell us how most popular news media covers the most important daily world news .
For example, if the news are about the conflict in the middle east, the presenter of News on News tells us what FOX, CNN or Aljazeera reported about it (i.e. what part of the story is emphasized, what are the political accents, what part of the story are not reported, if there are any other differences of the coverage, etc.)
The benefit for the general public: it will not only provide a more objective picture of the world news, but will also make news media manupulation more transparent for the viewer.
Below are some visual moods of the idea:

BMW Hourglass in Moscow
It's the kick-off party to start the countdown for BMW’s European launch of the latest model of BMW 7 series, slated to take place this fall. At the start of the build-up, more than 180,000 silvery balls concealed the car that was gradually revealed as the balls fell to the lower level. The 12-meter-high glass contraption is the centerpiece of the party thrown to 400 invited guests and celebrities. Pretty cool kick-off.

Idea: Beer brand supports local community
A beer brand launches special edition beer to support personal dreams of the local community members.
Members of the public are invited to register at www.beer-support.com where they can upload their dreams andl wishes. Once a month 2 or 3 profiles will be randomely picked to be featured on the actual beer bottles.
Each bottle will have a direct link to the the website where the beer drinkers can get more info about the "person on their bottle" and how much money they have raised so far.
www.beer-support.com will accept all sorts of causes to support as long as they serve common good of the community.
Registration and posting on the website is free. (premium membership can be introduced later in exchange for more features).
We are currently seeking business partnership with a beer brand to make this project a reality.

Too much choice leads to paralysis
A brilliant talk on TED from psychologist Barry Schwartz who takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz's estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied.
